Fitzroy Street precinct is proud to be home to a huge number of many and varied, but always delicious, eateries. The thing we’re most proud of though is that these businesses represent many parts of the world, from India to Italy, from West Africa to Thailand, from France to Mexico, from China to America and so much more!

Around the World in One Day is an epic restaurant crawl where you’re given the opportunity to taste 20 of these restaurants and their cuisines, (including a couple of dessert options), but most importantly, the journey you take and what you try is up to YOU! Go on your food adventure on Saturday, September 12th, 12pm – 4pm.

How is this so, you ask? Well, let us explain!

We have listed every restaurant involved in Around the World in One Day below. Under their listing information, you will see the 2 x tasters each restaurant is offering
Each taster has noted if they are vegetarian, vegan and gf – gluten free, however, PLEASE NOTE: these items are still produced in kitchens that have nuts and wheat etc – so there may be traces
You get to choose and book which tasters you would like to collect from which restaurants on the night (and yes, if you like the look of both the tasters at one venue, you can book both)
It is $5 (plus booking fee) per taster
Feedback from our previous attendees was that 4 – 5 tasters is a good number to order but, in the end, it’s up to you!
The tasters are approx. half the size of an entrée, but can vary according to venue
On the day, you wander about Fitzroy Street precinct, visiting the businesses, showing your ticket and collecting your tasters
As this is a restaurant crawl, on the day, you will be served tasters in/on a takeaway receptacle, allowing you to walk and eat
Even though this is a restaurant crawl, the majority of venues have nominated that, if you order a drink, you can sit in and eat your taster (these are noted in the listing below). Drinks are extra and are not included in the event pricing
Some of the eateries are takeaway only (as are noted in the listing below), which means you’ll collect your taster and eat whilst moving on to your next venue
There are also bars on the street that are not involved in the event but would love for you to stop in for a drink along the way (but don’t take food in) – they are Uncle Nora’s, Chronicles (open 1pm), Lady Peacock (open 4pm), St Luja (open 2pm), Fleet Street, Freddie Wimpoles and The Fifth Province
You do not need to book the same tasters as others in your party or even the same venues. The fun of the event is that everyone books their own food journey
No refunds or changes available after Fri, Sept 4 at 5pm
Bookings close Thu, Sept 10 at 5pm. There will be no more bookings available after this time

Lucien – Maddy Petch, singer-songwriter who fuses indie-pop and folk-rock with her broad chords and rainbow melodies
Bistro Voliere – Jennifer Salisbury & Mark Morand duo, one of Australia’s most vibrant jazz partnerships, this duo breathes new life into Great American Songbook classics from the 1920s to the 1950s
Derby Thai – Umbra Moon, a captivating Melbourne artist blending dark ambient pop, heavy vocals, and signature live violin
La Bodega – Chris Gogerly, Latin/Jazz instrumental guitar, featuring pieces ranging from samba and bossa nova to bolero, rumba and tango
Fleet Street – Blush’ko, a dynamic singer, songwriter and producer known for blending house grooves, electronic soul and smooth R&B vocals
Pyramid Bar & Restarant – Filippo International Accordionist, an accordionist and multilingual vocalist who performs an extensive international repertoire spanning gypsy, jazz, continental and tango
Ellora – Alex Hughes, a versatile singer and guitarist playing fingerstyle acoustic, jazz, pop and rock

West African Cuisine

Modern Indian

Established in 2014, Babu Ji offers fresh and often unexpected Indian flavours. Traditional home-style tastes are recreated with authentic Indian food and a vast menu of street food. Classic and not so classic curries, naan and surprises from the Tandoor are available seven days a week.

The food is simple yet sophisticated, made from quality products sourced from local markets and farmers. Many of our dishes are built for sharing and most are gluten free. We also accommodate vegetarian and vegan diets.

Bistro Voliere is a French bistro, located within the historic George Hotel foyer.

Opened in July 2019, in front of the grandeur of the old French Embassy, Three Elephants had a vision of sharing the diversity and unique flavours of Sri Lankan food in Melbourne. Italian/Oz Fusion

Banff has been part of St Kilda’s famous Fitzroy Street since 1942. Back in the day, 145 Fitzroy Street was used as an army barracks by American and Canadian soldiers in World War II, and what is now known as the Banff restaurant, was then used as a galley to cook their meals in. Selling food from the heart for breakfast, lunch and dinner, The Banff is a particular favourite amongst the locals for its great value and it’s warm and homely atmosphere.
